There are different benefits to any career path you choose to pursue. Based on our experience, many people enjoy working as independent appraisers. As an independent appraiser, you can create your own schedule, rates, and be your own employer. In contrast, some enjoy working for an appraisal service company where they do not have to obtain their own clients or handle the business operations of the company. At an insurance company, appraisers work as in-house, direct appraisers and estimate damages exclusively for that carrier. As a body shop estimator, individuals have the opportunity to progress within the repair shop industry.
